On Gandhi Jayanti, India observes ‘Swachh Bharat Diwas’ or ‘Swachhta Diwas,’ dedicated to cleanliness. This initiative, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, involved collaboration with fitness influencer Ankit Baiyanpuriya to promote cleanliness.

In response to Modi’s call, people from various backgrounds, including politicians and students, participated in the ‘Swachhata hi Seva’ campaign. Several government ministries, agencies, and social organizations also joined the effort to promote cleanliness.

In a recent episode of “Mann Ki Baat,” Modi urged all citizens to dedicate “one hour of shramdaan” for cleanliness on October 1 as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi before his birth anniversary.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP chief JP Nadda also actively participated in cleanliness drives in different locations, symbolically using brooms to support the cause.
