Akshay Kumar’s movie “Mission Raniganj” didn’t perform well at the Indian box office. The film didn’t generate much buzz before its release, so it was expected to have a slow start. Unfortunately, it didn’t show a significant improvement in its collections after the slow start.
The movie, directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, received mixed reviews from critics, and audience feedback was decent. On the second day, there was a 137.5% increase in advance bookings, with ticket sales going from 80 lakhs on the first day to 1.90 crores on the second day (excluding blocked seats). However, despite this growth, the film’s overall collection on the second day is estimated to be in the range of 4-5 crores at the Indian box office.
Compared to the estimated collection of 2.75 crores on the first day, this represents a 45-80% increase, but it’s still not enough. The total collection after the first two days is expected to be only 6.75-7.75 crores. Moreover, on the following day, there’s a high-stakes cricket match between India and Australia, which will likely overshadow any further growth for “Mission Raniganj.” So, it seems the film will continue to have a low opening weekend, and its performance during the weekdays will be interesting to watch.
