Fukrey 3,” the third movie in the Fukrey series, hit theaters on Thursday and got off to a strong start at the box office. To put this in perspective, the second installment of the Fukrey series,” Fukrey Returns,” was released in 2017 and made Rs 8.10 crore on its opening day, eventually grossing Rs 80.32 crore during its theatrical run. The first film in the series, “Fukrey,” released in 2013, managed to collect only Rs 36.5 crore during its theatrical run.

Fukrey 3” faced competition from Vivek Agnihotri’s “The Vaccine War,” which also released on the same day. However, “The Vaccine War” could only muster Rs 1.3 crore on its opening day.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan’s “Jawan,” which had been running strong at the box office, continued to perform well even though tickets for the film were available on a ‘buy 1 get 1′ offer. On its 22nd day, “Jawan” earned Rs 5.50 crore, bringing its total domestic collection to Rs 581.43 crore.

During the trailer launch of “Fukrey 3,” producer Ritesh Sidhwani discussed the trend of sequels in Bollywood. He emphasized that not all sequels are successful, and it depends on factors such as strong characters and audience love for the franchise. Sidhwani emphasized that sequels should only be made if the story naturally progresses and if there is already a dedicated fanbase for the series. “Fukrey 3” features a talented cast including Richa Chadha, Pankaj Tripathi, Varun Sharma, Pulkit Samrat, and Manjot Singh. It is directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, who also directed the first two films in the series.

Fukrey 3 Movie Review

Just like how we have elections every five years, a new Fukrey movie seems to come out regularly, and just like politicians, they often try to trick the audience. The first movie was a hit because it had a simple plot: Choocha has weird dreams, his friend Hunny interprets them, they make money with the help of Lali and Pandit-ji. The second movie added the idea of “deja choo.” Now, in the third movie, they’ve combined supernatural abilities with physical ones, and it’s filled with crude humor. The story starts in East Delhi, where Bholi Punjaban is running for elections, focusing on the water issue. She’s secretly supported by the city’s shady tanker mafia. The Fukras, who were supposed to assist her campaign, end up causing trouble, so she sends them to South Africa. There, after a series of bizarre events, Choocha and Hunny discover that their bodily fluids can make petrol.

Yes, you read that correctly. That’s the absurd idea the movie tries to sell. But oddly enough, that’s not even the weirdest part of the film. Choocha runs against Bholi in the elections and they even get married. Hunny, suddenly patriotic, says he won’t let India become Syria or Delhi become Baghdad. They ride into town on a tank. While Fukrey Returns was also quite strange, it still had a clear slacker film vibe. Fukrey 3, on the other hand, doesn’t stick to any one genre. It’s a slapstick comedy, almost a sci-fi, an adventure, a political satire, an eco-conscious thriller, and even a B-movie with crocodiles all rolled into one. The crocodile is funny, but the rest of the cast doesn’t quite hit the mark. Pulkit Samrat seems to have a trademark jaw-clenching and chin-stroking act that makes him look thoughtful. Richa Chadha and Pankaj Tripathi seem to sleepwalk through their roles. Varun Sharma does a decent job as the goofy Choocha, who is the heart and soul of this franchise. It’s a relief that Ali Fazal didn’t make an appearance; he’s moved on to better projects.

When the first Fukrey movie came out in 2013, it was unique for several reasons. Hindi slacker comedies at the time were usually slick and set in Mumbai. However, Fukrey was different. It was set in East Delhi, and it had moments of listlessness that were oddly captivating. Choocha, despite being over-the-top, felt like a character you knew from school. The song “Ambarsariya” was a pleasant tune. Unfortunately, these positives didn’t carry over to the sequels. It’s a disappointing trend in our comedy films – they seem to be getting dumber with each installment.
